Eggs and cholesterol

It seems that there will always be questions about how healthy it is to eat eggs, especially for those who like to eat them every day. This includes my son. I was concerned about him eating them every day due to the amount of cholesterol in them. Well I'm here to tell you that my research tells us that dietary cholesterol has no impact on the amount of cholesterol in our blood. So it seems we don't need to pay attention to the amount of cholesterol in any of the food products we buy. I never did anyway as none of my good or bad cholesterol levels are bad.

If you're concerned about your blood cholesterol, what you need to watch is the amount of saturated fats and trans fats in your foods. That means to lay off the things we seems to love most, the processed pastries, cookies and snacks that fill our pantries. Not to mention what's in your typical fast food meal. We all need to make better choices in what we eat.

The easiest way to do this is to make sure you eat only natural foods like fruits and vegetables. Add in some lean meats, eggs and nuts and you'll have an almost perfect diet. Of course these foods won't give you all the vitamins and minerals you need so you'd have to take some supplements to enhance the nutritional value. Me, I add 1 Shakeology shake every day to replace either my breakfast or lunch. Not only does it cost less per serving than most fast food meals, but it is the "healthiest meal of the day".

Eating healthier has helped me lose weight and gain energy. You may think that eating all those processed carbs give you a lot of energy, but try eating healthier for a week or two and you'll see what I mean.

Till next time....
